Buddy having fun at my in-laws' cottage. He wouldn't go in past the top of his legs but was happy to splash around in the shallow area. Looking back at all the pictures, it looks like he's purposely trying to splash his brother! :)

July 26th

I needed a quick dessert for an impromptu picnic so this is what I came up with!

When we were about to leave for the picnic, it started to thunderstorm so we ended up having the picnic in the basement.  It turned out very well...the kids got to play in the tent, the dog got to join us and the adults got wine!  :)

the waves were amazing, it felt like we were at the ocean but didn't have to worry about salt water, sharks and jellyfish! You can see my parents and husband in the background (my son and niece are behind one of the waves)

we decided to head into the cute little towns (picton, wellington) near the cottage we were renting. The area has lots of gorgeous vineyards and cheese factories. We also had to stop at the famous ice cream shop. Here's my daughter with apple pie ice cream...it was so delicious and had actual chunks of apple pie in it, crust and all!

July 18th

this is the lake in front of the cottage we rented. The kids had a blast playing there all day as we watched a storm heading across the lake towards us. This is when we decided we better go in before the storm reached us...the light was so cool

we rented a cottage with my family near sandbanks provincial park. Here we are checking out the beach nearby (that's my daughter looking out onto Lake Ontario)...it was gorgeous. The cottage had East lake in the front, a river in the back and a short walk to this beach...it was the perfect location!

First and Last Day of School.

Things i've noticed by looking at these pictures:
1) If you look at the door knocker, you can see that my daughter had a huge growing spurt this year
2)if you compare my son's shoulders with the rectangle on the door, you can see that he's grown a bunch too!
3)they both have newer running shoes because their feet grew
4) I think it's time to put away my son's pants...they're looking kinda short! :)

June 28th

Happy 14th Anniversary! Due to the kids soccer and our hectic schedules we had to settle for a nice dinner together after the kids were in bed. I made a lemon cake for dessert. As an Anniversary present, i decided not to torture the husband by making him pose for a picture (but i plan on getting one later on :))
